Members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will visit Evansdale Elementary School on Tuesday, Jan. 22 as part of the “Musicians in Schools” program.
They will be performing and interacting with first through fifth graders at the school, which has a general music program and just started an instrumental program for the first time this year.
Melissa Sanders, an Evansdale mother who handles public relations for the A.S.O., told Patch the musicians will bring their talent and inspiration to the students. "This project is near and dear to my heart for many reasons. The impact of music-rich educational experiences for kids has been proven over and over again," she said.
Evansdale offers half a dozen cultural arts programs per year through lecture demonstrations, master classes, music clinics, and hands-on activities.
There will be two assemblies, at 8:15 and 9:15 a.m.
Evansdale parents and children are welcome to post their comments and photos about the event on Tucker Patch-
