Astronaut Eric Boe is Back in Town

Space Shuttle pilot returns to his hometown this week for a series of presentations at DeKalb County Schools.

NASA Astronaut and Air Force Col. Eric A. Boe will visit several schools in the DeKalb County School System this week. Boe will also speak at the Fernbank Science Center.

Schools on Boe's itinerary include Henderson, Cedar Grove, Druid Hills and Sequoyah middle schools, and Evansdale, Chapel Hill, Fernbank, and Princeton elementary schools. 

Col. Boe lived in Tucker while attending both Evansdale Elementary School and the former Henderson High School, now known as Henderson Middle School. During this period he also took Discovery aeropace classes at the Fernbank Science Center and became a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol.

Col. Boe’s most recent space flight was in February and March of this year as the pilot of STS-133, the final mission of Space Shuttle Discovery.
