What Does SACS Think About These City Proposals?

According to SACS, "a north/south geographical division of the county" is part of the problem that placed our schools on probation.

Before Lakeside, before Briarcliff and LaVita Hills... before Prosperity, before Stonecrest and even before a city of DeKalb, or city of Tucker... this entire county was working together to save its school system.  What happened?  How can anyone who says they care about the schools stand up in support of what is taking place right now?

The division of the county into smaller, more fragmented sections where the elite attempt to barricade themselves away from the poor and the middle class is left trying to fend for itself, is not good for anyone, especially the children. If you care about your neighborhood, regardless of what map you fall into or out of right now, consider this statement, directly from the SACS report last December when they issued the warning and placed us on probation:

"... a north/south geographical division of the county also constitutes an economic, equity and racial divide, which is further exacerbated by the actions of the board members.  These are significant impediments and issues related to creating and sustaining improved instruction and effective operations of the district."
