Obama's State Of The Union Speech Prompts Local Event

President's State Of The Union watch party in Tucker is open to all

President Barack Obama will speak to both houses of Congress tonight to outline his plans for the next two years and for what he hopes will be a second term in office.

Organizing For America, a project of the Democratic National Committee, is arranging viewing parties for the event all across the country, and Tucker will have its own at the home of supporter Robert Bryant.

Jeremy Bird, Deputy Director for OFA in Georgia, said in an e-mail: "Folks at the Tucker watch party won't just hear from the President and connect with fellow supporters -- they'll also help plan the next steps for OFA GA. After the speech, volunteers will participate in brief strategy sessions to plan local action, and we need your ideas."
