Tucker Hosts Green Party's Nominating Convention

Georgia Greens are backing Cynthia McKinney for Congress.

The Georgia Green Party will hold its Nominating Convention at the next month, according to an article in Green Party Watch.

Local resident Cynthia McKinney, a six term member of the United States Congress and the 2008 Green Party nominee for President, has filed an FEC-1 “Statement of Organization” in which she declares her intention to seek the nomination of the Green Party for the U.S. Congress.

The event takes place on Saturday June 2, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. at 5234, LaVista Road in Tucker.

“Greens welcome Ms. McKinney’s entry into the race,” said Adam Shapiro, chair of the Georgia Green Party. “We hope we can work together to restore to the Fourth Congressional District leadership committed to expeditiously ending this nation’s illegal and immoral wars.”
