Super Tuesday Update: Santorum, Ann Romney Head to Atlanta on Thursday

Candidates are jockeying for attention ahead of the March 6 primary.

The Super Tuesday campaigning in metro Atlanta already has begun.

Following Tuesday's primaries in Michigan and Arizona, Republican candidates and their reps plan appearances this week in Atlanta, according to media reports.

The respected Political Insider column in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday that Rick Santorum plans an 11 a.m. appearance Thursday at Peachtree DeKalb Airport in Atlanta. The event is free and open to the public.

Also, Ann Romney, wife of GOP delegate leader Mitt Romney, plans to appear in and Buckhead at 5:30 p.m. Both Romney events are open to the public.

Newt Gingrich, who appeared in Suwanee on Feb. 18, already has announced that for an event on March 6. He has called Georgia crucial to his election success.

Georgia's 73 delegates are the biggest prize on Super Tuesday, when 10 states vote or begin caucuses.
