Small Business Forum to Focus on Watershed Projects

$1.9 billion in system upgrades will be discussed at Thursday meeting

Small business owners are being invited to a forum this week which will address DeKalb County's watershed plans over the next five years. Hosted by new District 7 Commissioner Stan Watson, the meeting takes place on Thursday, March 17 in the Lou Walker Senior Center at 2538 Panola Road in Lithonia.

The county's Department of Watershed Management Capital Improvements Projects (CIP) will cost $1.9 billion to upgrade water and sewer systems over the next five years.

Commissioner Watson, a former Georgia House Representative, stated in a press release: “DeKalb County must update our water and sewer system to be in compliance with Federal and State regulations. It is imperative that we ensure that our communities are protected and viable for generations to come.”
