Officials to Hold 'State of MARTA' Event

The breakfast event will be held at MARTA headquarters and streamed live online for public viewing. Visitwww.itsmarta.com, Friday morning.

As the long-term plans to transform the region’s largest transit system move forward, agency officials are hosting a “State of MARTA” breakfast, Friday, to inform and update stakeholders about their progress, an announcement said. 

The event will be held at 7:30 a.m., in the atrium of MARTA headquarters, 2424 Piedmont Road, N.E., Atlanta.

It will be streamed live online for public viewing. Visit www.itsmarta.com, Friday morning.

MARTA Board Chairman Frederick L. Daniels Jr., and Board Member Barbara Babbit-Kaufman will welcome guests and introduce Keith T. Parker, who this week marks his anniversary as MARTA’s GM/CEO.

The media statement said, since last year, MARTA has been making significant changes to improve its business model, focusing on core issues such as:

 “Everything we’re doing is about accountability,” Parker said, in the statement. “Our customers, employees and taxpayers should know the transit system is being managed wisely so that their investment in MARTA will keep paying dividends.”

The State of MARTA will conclude with an audience Q&A with the agency’s leadership moderated by Maria Saporta.
