Federal Judge Bans Tucker Tax Company From Doing Business

A Tucker tax preparer’s business has been halted by a federal judge, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.

A May complaint by the U.S. District Court said Mathew A. Adegbite CPA filed false returns resulting in at least $1 million lost in tax revenue.

Adegbite, a Georgia State University graduate, was an accountant in Nigeria before he immigrated to the United States in 1993.

The complaint accuses him of understating clients’ tax liabilities and falsely claiming credits. For example, a return falsely showed his client purchased a home and was eligible for the First Time Home Buyer Credit, the complaint said.
