Johns Homestead Community Meeting

Your opinion matters! Join us in the Fellowship Hall at Rehoboth Baptist Church to discuss the future of Johns Homestead Park... a beautiful 47-acre nature preserve.

The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs and the DeKalb County Natural Resources Management Office invite the public to discuss the future of Johns’ Homestead, located at 3071 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker.

The Johns family built the first house in 1827 and assisted with the construction of the first church building at Rehoboth. The family lived on and farmed the property until the 1980s. DeKalb County purchased 23 acres from the Johns family in 2004 and another 24 acres containing the Twin Brothers Lakes in 2006.
