Division of Developmental Disabilities' Public Forum

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is hosting consumer and family forums in June in order to present information regarding the provider rate-setting project and to take comments and questions. The times and locations have now been finalized.

In response to the request below for comments regarding the proposed rates models for the Georgia Division of Developmental Disabilities’ home and community based service providers, we received comments from representatives of 92 providers, 46 parents, and other associations, advocacy groups, and stakeholders. The comments have been summarized and organized into topical areas and responses have been prepared. Attached is the document listing the 134 distinct comments received as well as responses to each. The Division and Burns & Associates, Inc. (B&A) appreciates all those who took the time to submit comments.

In addition to the comments document, two other documents have been reattached: the February 25 version of the rate models and the presentation that accompanied these rates. These documents are identical to what was attached to the email below and do not reflect any changes that will be made in response to public comments. However, the Comments and Responses report references both of these other documents at various times so they have been reattached for your convenience.

The rate setting process to this point has primarily focused on the development of proposed rates based on the providers’ costs and the service requirements. Now that rate models have been proposed, the Division wishes to receive feedback from consumers and families and will be conducting a family forum in each of the Division’s six regions.
