Clarkston City Council to Meet, Discuss Cell Towers
State Rep. Karla Drenner wants people to attend Clarkston's City Council meeting tonight.
The Clarkston City Council will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Council/Courtroom of Clarkston City Hall (3921 Church Street) and State Rep. Karla Drenner (D-Avondale Estates) wants people to attend.
Specifically, Drenner is drawing attention to one item on the agenda: a proposed cellular tower installation in Milam Park at the end of East Avenue.
"After DeKalb County residents voted overwhelmingly not to place cell phone towers on public school property because of concerns about potential health hazards, I find it shocking that the city of Clarkston would consider putting a cell tower in a public park where children play and dozens of families live in the immediate vicinity," she said in a press release.
