Woman Arrested for Prostitution at Tucker Hotel

Sting operation at a local hotel results in an arrest.

A woman who placed an advertisement online offering sex for money was arrested following a sting operation by the DeKalb County Vice Unit, according to a police report.

Tiarra Shanee Gartrell, 22, of Decatur, was taken into custody March 14 at the in Tucker after an officer posing as a customer came to her room and offered her $80, which she allegedly accepted.

The officer, M. Johnson, answered a posting by "Juicy" on a website for escorts and was told her fee would be $80 for half an hour. They agreed to meet at the hotel, located at 1820 Mountain Industrial Boulevard. He was also told to "pick up some condoms" on the way, the report says.Β

Johnson continues in the report: "Once inside the room, the female later indentified as Tiarra Shanee Gartrell sat on the bed as I gave her $80 derived from DeKalb County Investigative funds." The officer says that Gartrell took the money and began undressing. Johnson then gave a signal to three other officers stationed outside who placed Gartrell under arrest.

Gartrell's previous arrest was in Augusta, Ga. on December 15, 2011, according to the LookWhoGotBusted website.
