Two Arrests Made in Bank Hold-Up

New details emerge in the armed robbery at RBC Bank.

Two men have been arrested and police are looking for a third man in connection with last week's hold-up at RBC Bank in Tucker.

Kevin Harris, aka Peanut, was caught by police late Thursday at his home in Decatur. Also arrested there was Jessie Rosser Jr. Another suspect, Ishmell Johnson, fled through the back door of the house before the officers could apprehend him. He remains a fugitive.

Police were able to locate the house after obtaining the tag number of a getaway vehicle from the bank's manager, Ronnie Norris. The car, a white Toyota Camry, is registered to Harris and was seen leaving the bank's parking lot "as if nothing had happened," according to a report released by DeKalb Police.

The robbery occurred April 7 at 1:25 p.m. Police said that Johnson entered the bank and handed teller Latosha Pounds a check, a deposit slip and his own identification. The teller tried to deposit the check but a fraud notice came up, the report said. "Mr. Johnson became irate and asked for the check back," Pounds told police. She summoned Norris, who confronted Johnson, and an altercation ensued, with Johnson saying, "I have a gun, move outta (sic) my way." Johnson then pushed the manager aside, grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from a drawer and left the premises.

A bank customer, Catherine Smith, told police that she was almost knocked over by the suspect as he exited the building. She also said that, earlier, a man later identified as Rosser had spoken to her outside.  He asked her about her car and her grandchildren as he sat in the Camry which was parked in a handicapped space.

Police found a note at the scene that said, "Give me all the money in the drawer right away." Pounds and Norris both stated that they had not seen the note before it was shown to them by the investigating officers.

Johnson, the suspect still at large, is described as a black male, 6' 5" tall, 280-300 lbs. and bald. He has a mustache and an "African" accent, police said.
