Students Arrested in High School Cafeteria Fight

Charges are pending against two ninth-graders.

A lunchtime brawl between two students at Tucker High School left a trail of blood in the cafeteria as both ninth-graders were taken away by police.

The melee occurred late Thursday morning, according to a THS parent who did not wish to be identified. "Two students got into a fist fight, there was bleeding, police were called and both were put in handcuffs, arrested and left in police cars," the parent told Patch.

"It was quite a bloody mess, according to a student who has the same lunch period," she said, adding that the cause of the fight is not known.

A similar incident at the school last September left a teacher with a broken leg.

"Apparently the fighting is more frequent than we're aware of," she said. "They have the principal and security (present) and that is how they get police there."

The number of fights at the high school is speculation on the part of an unnamed source and the fight in September resulted in a security guard breaking a bone as another staff member fell on him while they were breaking up the fight. Real journalism includes fact gathering, interviewing people who have real information, actually doing a little leg-work. Our community and its schools have enough going on already without the added stress of a local "newspaper" reporting its "news" as a gossip column. I applaud the THS administration and security that send a clear message that fighting in school will not be tolerated.

This story is not true... Sir check your facts before releasing false information. I'm so disappointed in the author for this pack of lies. Neither boy was arrested or left the school in handcuffs... Be responsible and report the truth.

Based on the fact the fight occurred literally two feet in front of me, I hate to inform you that there mostly correct. There was a fairly large blood trail (one kid broke his nose). While both were not arrested one of them was handcuffed and taken to the local police station. The cause of the fight was, well to fight. While it may be an unwise choice, its a common reason. There are a fair amount of fights a tucker, but most of them are only minor incidents. So, yes the story is correct.

Well,in Tucker and many other places it's not humans moving into areas that were once for wildlifeRead More only. The coyotes have no memory of that. This is part of a general acclimitization of wildlife (deer, coyote, fox, turkey - even bear) to suburban and even quasi-urban conditions. Food is plentiful as are hiding places, and enemies are few. Coyotes do not need to be eradicated, but their needs to be a removal and/or sterilization program in areas where coyotes are a threat.

Yes I do believe in protecting wildlife and preserving our natural world as best as possible at thisRead More point. And yes I think we've messed up our planet by over populating as humans. Having said that...now that we have densely populated urban & suburban areas as in the metro Atlanta area including tucker, I think coyotes or rattlesnakes or other carnivorous animals need to be kept to a minimum in densely populated areas...the solution is for us to have zero population growth & preserve lands where wildlife & exist without us encroaching on them...but coyote attacks in backyards 10 miles from the center of a city of 7 million people...nah, something's wrong with that...animal control...do your job!!!

I am unapologetic about our human numbers on this wonderful planet! This bit of land that I careRead More for, "10 miles from the center of a city of 7 million people" is well-fenced. I do think that Animal Control ought to trap and remove coyotes that threaten my pets! Evidently the coyote wasn't rabid, thank goodness! But this was a LARGE animal, large enough to be a threat to small children. If they run and hunt in packs, they would be dangerous to humans, I think. So it's not just pets.
