According to detectives, Williams was walking along the roadway on I-85 approximately 1100 feet away from the Northcrest Road exit ramp when she was struck and killed. The vehicle involved left the scene.

The car is thought to be a 2000-2003 Mercedes C-Class, and it should have damage to the right front bumper, hood and windshield, police said Wednesday afternoon. Its exact color is unknown.
