Police Looking for Church Thieves

Four men in white Chevy Jimmy seen "cruising" Elmdale Dr.

A church in Tucker has been burglarized three times in the past week, and police are looking for four suspects who were seen nearby and may be responsible.

Dekalb Police said the New Life Outreach Ministry, at 4419 Elmdale Drive, was broken into last Thursday, April 14, at 9:30 p.m. and stereo equipment was stolen from the premises.

Then, on Monday, the same church was ransacked again, twice in the same day, according to a neighbor, Barbara Paulk. She said that another neighbor, Ewell Atwater, had observed some suspicious activity and called the police. "Ewell saw a white Chevy Jimmy with one white man and three black men cruising the area," said Paulk.

Police are investigating two other burglaries that occurred near the church late Monday and early Tuesday - on Cowan Road and Peters Road, respectively - but have not said if there may be a connection.

Paulk, a neighborhood watch coordinator for the Glynbrook subdivison, is warning residents to be watchful. "Please be observant and call 911 for any suspicious vehicles or people in our area," she said.
