Police: Alcohol Involved in Fatal Norcross Accident

Police have arrested a 21-year-old and charged her with vehicular homicide.

A traffic accident early yesterday morning on Jimmy Carter Boulevard resulted in the death of 24-year-old Starkesha Magee. Gwinnett Police have arrested the driver of the car she was in and charged her with DUI, vehicular homicide in the 1st degree and failure to maintain a lane.

Police say that Chanae Woodards, 21, was driving a Honda CRV east on Jimmy Carter Boulevard around 4:30 a.m. on July 21 when she struck a Toyota Camry.

The driver, 20-year-old Frank Twum, was attempting to turn south on Corley Road. Woodards was “negotiating a curved portion of the road, swerved into the center lane and struck (the Camry) head-on,” according to a police statement.
