Moon Shadow Tavern Back in Business
The Tucker bar closed and then changed hands after a fire last summer.
A fire last June shut down the Moon Shadow Tavern in Tucker, but now the local bar and live music venue is once again in business. New owner Wyman Heeden said, "it feels good to be back open.”
Known for a variety of live music, the Moon Shadow has a list of bands and events coming up. Regular customers returning after the six-month shutdown will find a newly decorated bar, Keno machines, and pool tables.
They serve $5 hot wings on Mondays and Tuesdays, and host Texas Hold 'Em Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. Heeden wants everyone to know that the regular staff is back and “Ron is still cooking.”

Last summer's fire only affected the roof of the building, but water and smoke damage was more widespread, and the owner decided to sell the place rather than fix it. The cause of the fire was said to be a faulty air conditioning unit.
Heeden took over in August and has been working on it ever since. "If you liked it before, you'll like it even better now," he said at the time.
