Fugitive Breaks Into Local Business, Falls Asleep

The suspect was discovered sleeping in a recording studio and was "heavily intoxicated," police said.

A man on the run broke into a Tucker office building on New Year's Eve in order to get some sleep, according to police.

Terry Dingler, 48, was arrested for criminal trespass and property damage after being found inside the offices of Terminus Media on Idlewood Road at 6 a.m. on Dec. 31. He told an officer that he was tired of running from police and that he broke into the location because he was cold and sleepy.

Dingler had called 911 from outside the Kid's World childcare center four hours earlier, wanting to turn himself in "so that he could go someplace warm and get something to eat," the report said. When police arrived, "he was nowhere to be found."

"The suspect used a large rock to break the glass of the front door and gained entry," the incident report stated. Dingler was discovered sleeping in an upstairs recording studio and was "heavily intoxicated," police said.

Dingler, who is homeless, had an outstanding warrant from Clayton County for a probation violation and had previously been charged with making terroristic threats.
