Congregation Evacuated in Church Fire

Arson investigators are looking into the cause of Sunday's incident.

A fire at a Tucker church Sunday afternoon forced the evacuation of the congregation, according to Gwinnett officials.

The fire broke out in an auxiliary section of Korean First Presbyterian on Lawrenceville Highway around noon and was quickly contained and extinguished, Lieutenant Colin Rhoden said.

Arson investigators were summoned to the scene, and no cause has been revealed.

"Crews ventilated the structure of smoke and harmful gases," Rhoden said. "Church-goers were allowed to enter the sanctuary to continue (the) service. No injuries were reported."
