Citizen Police Academy Seeking Applicants

Applications are being accepted for a course at Police Headquarters in Tucker.

The DeKalb County Police Department is seeking applicants to fill its April 2013 Citizen Police Academy. The Academy is a free 10-week course. Participants will meet one night a week for two-hour sessions at DeKalb County Police Headquarters in Tucker.

During the sessions, personnel from various units including Uniform, Criminal Investigations and Special Operations Divisions will teach participants about the complexities and operational structure of their respective units.

It is the Department’s aim to have the Citizen Police Academy provide participants an insider’s view of law enforcement. Ultimately, this new understanding will assist in building and nurturing stronger relationships between the community and the DeKalb County Police force.
