The Crime Scene Unit is collecting evidence to determine cause of death.

Homicide and arson police are investigating the case of a body found inside a burned car early Friday close to the Tucker-Norcross border.

Firefighters were dispatched at 5:07 a.m. this morning in response to a call from a police officer on routine patrol about a fire at Lucky Shoals Park. Upon arrival they discovered a smoldering car with a body inside. The age, sex, and identification of the deceased victim has yet to be determined, and the make and model of the car is not yet known due to it being badly burned, according to a police statement.

The park is located at 4651 Britt Road in an unincorporated area of Gwinnett County.
