Armed Robbery Suspect Sought by Police

Detectives believe the man may be responsible for several business robberies in DeKalb.

The DeKalb County Police Department, based in Tucker, is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of robbing two businesses this week. 

According a a press release, the suspect entered the Family Dollar store located at 3590 Panola Road on May 1 at approximately 11:30 a.m. The man was armed with a weapon and demanded money from the cash register. He then fled the location with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The same person is believed to have entered a second business, Dollar General, 2566 Wesley Chapel Road, about 15 minutes later and robbed the location of cash. No injuries were reported during either incident.

Detectives believe the man may be responsible for additional business robberies in DeKalb and neighboring counties. The suspect is described as a black male, 21-24 years old, approximately 5’6 – 5’8 and weighing 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans and a red baseball cap with Atlanta Braves written on the front.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at (404) 577-TIPS (8477). Callers may be eligible for a reward and will remain anonymous.
