Another Family Dollar Robbery at Gunpoint

The same location was robbed earlier this year.

Police say a man walked into the Family Dollar store on Lawrenceville Highway last Wednesday afternoon and picked out a few items which he then placed on the counter top. As the cashier was putting them in a bag, the man pulled out a silver handgun and pointed it at her.

That is when a manager appeared from the back of the store and started to dial 911, according to the incident report. The suspect took the phone from the manager and threw it on the ground, then ordered the cashier to give him all the money in the register. She complied and the suspect fled the scene on foot towards Brockett Road.

The suspect is described as a black male weighing 180 pounds, about 6 feet 3 inches in height, wearing black clothing and gloves. Surveillance footage from the crime scene is being examined by investigators.

The same store was robbed in similar fashion last February, and there was a small fire there Nov. 6.
