Together We Heal Announces website launch
Tucker, GA & Fort Lauderdale, FL September 24, 2013, -- Together We Heal (http://www.together-we-heal.org) is a non-profit serving any who suffered the trauma of Childhood Sexual Abuse. It exists to give aid and counseling to those in need, educate any who seek information on how to best protect our children and to expose sexual predators and their methods. Together we can do all of these things and begin the process of healing.
The main focus of TWH is to provide no-cost counseling for survivors who cannot afford it, education to the public through public speaking on matters of CSA and giving a safe forum for victims of abuse to share, learn and heal.
David Pittman, Executive Director says, “We are excited about launching the website, it gives Together We Heal a larger reach to help those in need and provides a safe platform for victims to be heard and network with others that can support and identify with them. It is our goal to help, if you or someone you care about is in need, we are here to help. And if you don't come to us, reach out to someone, to some group, to help them find their way to path of healing.”
TWH is available to any who want to be educated on how best to protect their children from these dangerous sexual predators. Since 90-95% of CSA occurs at the hands of someone that is known, trusted and often loved, it is essential to be educated on what signs or red flags to be looking for. TWH works with Schools, Religious groups, Civic organizations or in a home full of concerned parents.

More about Executive Director David Pittman:
David is the Executive Director of “Together We Heal”, an organization whose purpose is to provide counseling and guidance for those who have suffered the trauma of childhood sexual abuse. It works to educate the public through public speaking, collaborates with other groups to raise awareness and expose the sexual predators methods.
David grew up in Tucker, GA., and while active in the youth group of church in Tucker he fell victim to a sexual predator serving as member of the clergy. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, he understands the importance of informing parents on how to better protect their children and help survivors begin the healing process.
David spent years on a healing journey that continues to this very day. This led him to seek out groups specifically for men as well as those who had been through a similar trauma and ultimately inspired the foundation of Together We Heal. TWH now works with therapists, counselors and groups aiding both men and women in their efforts to heal, grow and thrive.
Dave is also the South Florida Support Group Leader for SNAP, (Survivors Network for Those Abused By Priests). Working in a joint effort, SNAP and TWH provides a monthly support group for survivors of CSA. All material and help is provided at no cost and is peer led. Together the survivors help each other through seeing to it that none are left feeling alone with this challenge.
As Dave began his healing journey, he saw a need for counseling to those that could not afford it or had no access to insurance. Based on this need, he began recruiting therapists and counselors who would either donate their time or provide at such a rate that funding could be provided through donors to TWH. So the bottom-line focus of Dave was to provide counseling for survivors who cannot afford it, education to the public on matters of CSA and giving a safe forum for victims of abuse to share, learn and heal.
