Shawn, Here's your quick proof!

OK, Shawn, since you are really needing it, here is something to chew on, not that it was too terribly hard to find. On the Cheryl Willis inspired "Save Tucker From Lakeside City" Facebook page, there is a nice new graphic there along the top. It is also down in the news feed as well. Expect it to disappear within a few minutes. There is a back up image down at the bottom, just ot make sure stuff doesn't go missing. The basis for this graphic is misleading at best because it deals with schools, not cities. But let's confuse people anyway the all natural Cheryl Miller way and add some text to make it seem the numbers are about the Lakeside City area. When people see the context that the information deals with schools, it is completely understandable. The graphic comes from schooldigger.com. the actual link is: http://www.schooldigger.com/go/GA/schools/0174000721/school.aspx What Cheryl decided to do was add her own commentary off to the side allowing people to believe that these numbers are about actual home ownership when in reality the numbers are about the places where the students that live in the attendance zone of Lakeside actually live. This is how you use factual information incorrectly with your own agenda. In other words, you are lying. Stretching the truth or just blatantly misleading people. This will not win over any electorate, but will win over the moronic population that follows idiots. Just trying to give some advice here for Cheryl, because I really do want to see Tucker form a city with reasonable borders. Cheryl, be honest with yuor campaign and you will have more followers who aren't seen as kooks being led by a kook. I do think that Lakeside is diving too deep into Tucker land. A fair shake would be 285 as the border between Lakeside and Tucker. Tucker believes inside the perimeter is theirs and Lakeside believes outside of 285 is theirs. First come, first served....a great methodology. Now, let's consider the numbers that are presented by Cheryl and imagine that the Lakeside area was indeed 55% rental properties and the Tucker area was 26% rental properties. Do you know what this would mean for finances for the new city? They would have a much more massive amount of revenue left over, and DeKalb County would benefit the most----including the school system. Do you know why kiddies? Well, rental properties do not get any Host credits, homestead exemptions, or any other discounts. They pay the full amount of property taxes to the city, county, school system, state, etc. Lots of rentals=lots of tax money for all of the government entities to play with. What are the real percentages of rental properties in the 30345 and 30084 area codes? This data is hard to extrapolate, but using Zillow.com as a base and let's say that it is plus or minus 10% in accuracy---The 30345 zip code lists 15 homes currently for rent and the 30084 zip code lists 45 homes for rent. Although the 30345 zip code is 1/2 the area of the 30084 area, there are still more rentals averaged per square mile in the 30084 zip code. As far as foreclosures go, the numbers are: 39 in the 30345 zip code and 167 in the 30084 zip code. Again, 30084 is twice the area of 30345. Anyway, Tucker is a different economic entity and this is the reason why the school percentages of the students that live in rental properties are greater in the Lakeside zone. Lakeside residents send more kids to private schools and lots more kids are bussed in from other areas, while Tucker seems to send their kids to Tucker High School and seems to have fewer kids bussed in because the local population does not send their kids to private schools. No seat left unfilled. Now why would someone from Smokerise want to send their kid to Lakeside instead of Tucker? I have included a link to the doctored up image because Cheryl has a habit of deleting stuff when she is called out on it and this is another proven fact. Here is the backup of that image for when it disappears from her Facebook page. http://www.nobsconsulting.com/images/cherylmillerliesexampleone.jpg
