Lakeside City ♫♫ does the hokey pokey ♫♫

SB 270 (Lakeside bill) passes today by a slim margin, just over 10 votes. Sen. Fran Millar, the bill’s sponsor fought off extremely passionate opposition, both from inside the perimeter and senators within the DeKalb delegation.

The next step for Lakeside is to the Georgia House for consideration.

For supporters of Lakeside, today is a battle won. Can Lakeside win the war? Should the bill navigate through the House how will Lakeside fare with voters in a general election? These questions remain unknown and could be determined on the May 20th Primary election, which is in less than 90 days.

Lakeside’s ♫♫ Hokey Pokey Map ♫♫
Lakeside also introduced another updated map. Little was known publically about this map prior to the senate meeting today. High level, Emory University area is impacted, as is Sage Hill and Victoria Estates. Highway markers denote where I-85 and I-285 are. The red dotted line is I-285 within the Lakeside map. Expect updates on Patch.com if additional drafts are introduced. It is notable that the Lakeside I-285 spilt presents a challenge for those outside the perimeter that identify with Tucker.

 >> it is notable Lakeside adjustments were made to the above mentioned areas just a few weeks ago.
 >> the updated map does not included a "mega city" scenario that would join Lakeside and Tucker as a union between the groups.
