Terry Hodges, Former Tigers Football Coach, Dead at 87

Tucker High "Hall of Fame" member left the school in 1965.

Terry Hodges, Head Coach of the Tucker Tigers football team from 1957 until 1965, died April 25 in Alabama at the age of 87.

Hodges' obituary in the Atlanta-Journal Constitution says he arrived in DeKalb County in 1954 and began coaching at Druid Hills High School before moving on to , where he spent almost nine years as head football coach. He then worked at the DeKalb County Board of Education as Coordinator of Athletics and Physical Education before retiring in 1983.

Burial took place at Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden on Saturday, April 28. Hodges is survived by his wife, Doris E. Hodges of Anniston; a son, Terry H. Hodges, Jr., of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
