Obituary: William Burke Brennan

A memorial service will take place on Sunday.

William Brennan, the father of Tucker resident Burke Brennan, died Wednesday, Dec. 25 at the age of 77, after undergoing cardiac surgery two weeks ago. 

The following tribute was posted on Facebook: 

William Burke Brennan, Jr., 77, died Wednesday December 25, 2013 at St. Dominic's Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday December 28, 2013 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home 759 Hwy 51 Madison, MS. 39110, 601-898-8565. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Bill was a native of New York. He served in the Korean War on Okinawa Island and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army.

Bill is survived by his fiancé and long-time companion Janet Anderson; his children, Burke Brennan, Kelly Brennan McClure and Matt Brennan; sister, Mary Patricia Sullivan; brother, Jeff Brennan; 8 nieces and nephews; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Bill's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, mentor, spiritual advisor and friend.

Burke Brennan, son of the late William Burke Brennan, is the Chief Communications Officer for DeKalb County and the former President of the Tucker Business Association.
