Obituary: James 'Jughead' Adams

Adams died on Oct. 20 after a brief illness.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 23 for James E. Adams, who died on Sunday after a brief illness.

Adams was born to Troy and Velma Adams in Tucker, where he grew up, and graduated from Tucker High School in 1944. He served in the Second World War and married Carmen Blalock in 1949. They were married for 56 years until her death in 2005.

He worked in the poultry business and held regular Tuesday morning Bible study meetings at Old Hickory House in Tucker. "He was one of the good ones," said his cousin Trish England on Facebook, referring to him as a "good old Tucker gadfly." 

The family requests that memorial gifts be sent to Loving Care Senior Concierge at 5935 River Rush Ct., Sugar Hill, GA 30518 In lieu of flowers. Condolences may be sent by visiting Bill Head Funeral Home.
