Tucker Nature Preserve Hosting Holiday Open House

Sunday, Dec. 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

By Pam McNall

The Tucker Nature Preserve is hosting an afternoon of holiday cheer, nature-craft making, live music, food trucks, trail-hiking and more. Join us Sunday, Dec. 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

All are welcome to celebrate the season at the Tucker Nature Preserve Holiday Open House. Come decorate pine cones and make fresh Leyland Cypress wreaths. Boys Scouts from Troop 129 will be on location to tell the community about their trail blazing projects. Feel free to take a self-guided tour through the park, or join a guided tour at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

We’ll have Hot Apple Cider, free cookies, Tucker’s own Zach Whiteis performing live music, and Roly Poly’s food truck on location. 10% of their food truck sales goes to the Tucker Nature Preserve so come hungry!

This is a fundraiser for the Park Pride matching grant we won earlier this year. The event is free so any donation is appreciated. Thanks to Park Pride, we now have a group picnic table area for large parties and events! We still have matching funds to raise, so please donate what you can to Tucker’s best kept secret. If just fifty Tucker residents gave $10 a piece, we’d be well on our way to improving Tucker’s beautiful downtown green space.
