Tucker Historical Society Gears Up for 2013
Plans are underway for several events, and volunteers are needed.
The annual membership meeting of the Tucker Historical Society will be held Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at 7 p.m. and end shortly before 8 p.m. in Room 15 at the Tucker Recreation Center.
All members are invited to attend this important meeting. It will include the election of board members and a brief overview of our 2013 events. Please note: Tucker Recreation Center now closes at 8 p.m. This will be a business meeting only due to the brief time allowance.
We have been working on the schedules of our annual springtime events and will have this schedule printed for the meeting too. Please mark these events on your calendar and plan how you want to participate in each one. We will have volunteer sign-up sheets as well.

March 4 (Monday) - 7 p.m. Monthly Meeting - Location and Guest Speaker to be announced.
March 16 (Saturday) - 9:30 a.m. - Plant Potting Party at Tim and Dorothy Timmons' home. The more the merrier and come play in the dirt with us!
April 20 (Saturday) - 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - "Plant Swap and Share" - Volunteers are needed to help work at the Information Table or helping answer questions about the plants. Garden tour tickets will be avalable at the swap. We could use some help on Friday night to pickup and deliver the baby plants from Tim and other gardeners who are donating alot of plants from their gardens. If you have a pick truck and can give some time that Friday afternoon/evening please let us know.
May 11 (Saturday) - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - 'Tucker Day' on Main Street. We usually have two booths to display our archives and to talk to folks about Tucker history. Garden tour tickets will be available there too. We need help setting up that morning usually between 7:30 and 8 a.m. and to take down the tents and archives by 4 p.m. so the Cruise-In can start soon after.
May 18 (Saturday) - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - The 2013 Eleventh Annual Tucker Historical Society Garden Tour. We are close to having all five gardens identified for this year's tour. Volunteer Garden Greeters receive a free ticket to the tour. At least one volunteer per shift for either morning or afternoon at each garden.
