Local Handyman's Truck, Equipment Stolen

Customers and friends of local handyman Rick Haynes are rallying around him after he fell victim to thieves.

"His stolen truck was insured for liability only and it was full of a lot of expensive lawn care and other equipment when it was stolen on or about June 30," wrote Tucker resident and Patch reader Joy Johnson on the Give Forward website.

Johnson and others are raising funds to replace the truck and the tools. "(Rick) is a great guy who does fix-it work and landscaping for our wholneighborhood," she says, and describes him as "a humble, hard-working and talented father," but that "he has few resources."

"We'll stand behind you, Rick, and help you recover as much as we can," wrote a $20 donor identified as MD.

An anonymous donor who contributed $50 wrote, “I hope you are able to get back your stolen property. Keep smilin' and know that the world has some lowlifes in it - but there are more good ones in it."
