Fund-raiser for Young Tucker Hero and Her Family

Zna Gresham, 10, saved the life of a baby at a July apartment fire.

Earlier this week, Georgia Patches ran stories with links to fund-raising campaigns in the metro area on GoFundMe, a website which is a Patch partner.

Several campaigns in the Tucker area are listed (you can search for local efforts by town name, zip code or name).

Included is the story of 10-year-old Zna Gresham, who was honored by DeKalb County for saving the life of a 1-month-old baby during an apartment fire in July. According to the GoFundMe post, Zna and her family has been homeless since the fire.

Beverly Thompson, a public education specialist with DeKalb Fire Rescue, started a campaign to help the family on GoFundMe.

“Since this fire her family has been homeless, living in a motel, not knowing if they will have enough money to pay the daily rate. After meeting this young lady I pledged to do all I can to help them get back on their feet,” Thompson said in her post.
