Community Rallies to Help Lakeside Student

Campaign, dinner to raise funds for home physical therapy equipment for 16-year-old Jason Tyler.

Almost two years ago, Jason Tyler had a stroke that left him partially blind and in a wheelchair.

Now 16, the Lakeside High School student is showing "miraculous improvement," maintaining A grades while juggling physical therapy and medical appointments that keep him out of school.

Friends in the Lakeside community want to help. They have launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise the last $5,000 of the $14,000 needed to buy home physical therapy equipment for Jason. Donations can be made at this GoFundMe page.

Also, those friends are sponsoring another to-go spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the equipment on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 5-7 p.m. at 1356 Altamont Drive, Decatur 30033 (Across the street from the Leafmore Pool.)

You can order ahead until Dec. 5.Β  Adult order: $10, Child order: $5. For more information and to place your order, visit here.
