St. Andrews Presbyterian hosts seminar on Affordable Care Act

St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Tucker will host a seminar on the Affordable Care Act on Monday, March 10, at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Designed to help people who have questions about the new health insurance law, the meeting is free and open to the public.

The seminar will focus on practical issues - how to find out if you qualify for government assistance, how much the assistance can lower your monthly premium, how to compare the different plans, what information you must

provide to apply for health insurance, and how the law will affect people who

have health insurance through an employer. There will be time for questions from the audience.

The seminar will be presented by Paul Ellingson, a state-licensed financial services advisor with more than 10 years experience in health insurance who is certified under the Affordable Care Act.

Rachel Nelson, chair of St. Andrews' Outreach Committee, explained that the church's goal is to provide a needed public service. "St. Andrews has a history of addressing issues that affect the people of our community," she said. "This law is having large impacts, and many are still looking for information and guidance. We feel that this is one way to reach out and help our neighbors."
