Share Our Strength's Baking Contest for No Kid Hungry

Share Our Strength® invites Atlantans to tie on their aprons and join in on the fun with the Baking Contest for No Kid Hungry on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Atlanta. Emceed by Jenn Hobby of Q100’s The Bert Show, this kickoff event for Share Our Strength’s tenth annual Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry®, presented by Domino® Sugar, C&H® Sugar and Duncan Hines®, will feature professional pastry chefs, amateurs, culinary students and children vying to win the title “Atlanta’s Best Dessert.”  All proceeds will benefit Share Our Strength, a national nonprofit working to end childhood hunger in America. Guests attending the contest can sample the sweet creations of some of Atlanta’s best pastry chefs, sip delicious wines and bid in a silent auction. Guest judges will include Mamie Doyle, winner of “Cupcake Wars” and owner of Mamie’s Cupcakes in Marietta, Ga., Broderick Smylie, founder of Savory Exposure blog, Jenny Turknett, Atlanta Journal-Constitution food blogger and critic, and Sonia Chopra, editor of Eater Atlanta. They will be joined by Evelyn Mims, associate producer for 11Alive television and children’s judge Lizzie Marie, a 12-year-old local food blogger.
