'Tucker Together' Meets Tuesday

The committee will gather publicly to discuss ideas for Tucker's future.

The first public meeting of 'Tucker Together' will be Tuesday, April 30, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church's Fellowship Hall on LaVista Road, at 7 p.m.

This follows the filing of House Bill 677 on March 26 as a placeholder for a potential city of Tucker.

The steering committee includes representatives from the Tucker Civic Association (TCA), the Smoke Rise Community Association (SRCA), Tucker Business Association (TBA), Tucker Historical Society (THS), Tucker Parent Council, Tucker Police Precinct, Main Street Tucker Alliance (MTA), and representatives from the faith community.

"Tucker Together is neither in support or opposed to cityhood," said Harry Powell of the Tucker Historical Society. "The group’s primary focus is to provide the Tucker community with accurate information so that the community can make informed decisions about the prospects and pitfalls of incorporation."
