Update: Tornado Watch Cancelled; But Bad Weather Expected Later

The National Weather Service Forecast Center in Peachtree City says tornadoes are likely in today's "major severe weather event."

The tornado watch that had been issued until noon for north Georgia, including the Tucker area, has been canceled, but the worst of the severe weather may come later today, according to weather forecasts.

The fast-moving squall line of storms that prompted tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings across north Alabama this morning, moved north of metro Atlanta as of 10 a.m. However, weather.com calls the severe weather expected later “significant and life-threatening.”

The threat will increase with the approach of a very strong cold front.
