Marine From Tucker Killed in Afghanistan
John Cagle was 19 and based at Camp Lejeune.
Lance Cpl. John R. Wimpey Cagle, a marine from Tucker, died yesterday while on duty in Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense.
Military officials said Thursday that Cagle, 19, died Sept. 28 in Helmand province, and that the death is under investigation.
Cagle was based at Camp Lejeune, NC., and was assigned to 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.
