Lane Closures Continue On I-85

HOV lanes will close overnight and during non-peak travel times to complete installation of the signage on the new HOT lanes.

As weather permits, lane closures will continue in DeKalb and Gwinnett counties this week along Interstate 85 due to construction of the overhead signage on the new High Occupancy Toll lanes.

According to a press release from the Georgia Department of Transportation, traffic pacing can only occur in that night’s work zone between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. Below is the work plan for the week, released by GDOT, on the more than 60 new signs required for the project. Daytime work will occur on the northbound lanes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on the southbound lanes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., so as to avoid disruption during peak traveling times.

Monday, 13th work occurs on I-85 south only closing the left lane or High Occupancy Vehicle lane from the New Center Way overpass to Indian Trail Road.
