Gridlock on Tap for This Weekend

Going to be on 285, 75, 85, 20 for 400 this weekend? Then get ready for some major highway construction delays, as crews will be working on all of those major thoroughfares. 

All four interstates will have at least two lanes closed at various locations:

• I-20 - three lanes eastbound and westbound in DeKalb County
• I-75 - three lanes northbound and southbound from SR 131 to University Avenue
• I-85 - two southbound lanes near Metropolitan Parkway
• I-285 - three lanes eastbound and westbound between Chamblee-Tucker Road and Ashford- Dunwoody Road. 

Additionally, one left southbound lane will be closed on State Route 400 from Abernathy Road to Hammond Drive to install overhead signs and construct barrier wall. 

DeKalb County

I-285 SB,between MP 35 (I0inB) and MP 35 (I0inB), one right lane on the ramp closed for spall repair.

I-20 EB & WB, between MP 66 (Columbia Dr.) and MP 66 (Columbia Dr.), three inside left lanes closed for removing existing concrete slab and placing new slab.

I-285 EB & WB, between MP 34 (Chamblee Tucker Rd.) and MP 29 (Ashford Dunwoody Rd.), three left lanes; on ramp to I-285 EB (exit 32 - Buford Highway) all closed for slab rehabilitation and patching.

Fulton County

I-85 NB, between MP 77 (Metropolitan Pkwy.) and MP 77 (I-75), one right lane closed, as needed, for resurfacing.

Fulton County

I-75 NB & SB, between MP 241 (Cleveland Ave.) and MP 244 (University Ave.), three right lanes (NB), as needed; four right lanes (SB); right lane on exit ramp to I-85; and entrance ramp (University Ave.) all closed for resurfacing.

I-75/85 SB, between MP 243 (SR 166 EB ramp) and MP 243 (Metropolitan Ave. ramp), two left lanes closed for resurfacing.

SR 400 SB, between MP 8 (Abernathy Rd.) and MP 7 (Hammond Dr.), one inside left lane closed for installing overhead signs and barrier wall construction.

I-75 NB, between MP 252 (Northside Dr.) and MP 254 (Moores Mill Rd.), one right lane closed for installing drop-in box and pipe placement.

Clayton and Fulton counties

I-75 NB, between MP 237 (SR 331) and MP 241 (Cleveland Ave.), three right lanes and the entrance and exit ramps (exit 239) closed for resurfacing.

Clayton County

I-75 SB, between MP 235 (Old Dixie Hwy.) and MP 231 (Mt. Zion Rd.), two outside right lanes closed for demolition of Norfolk Southern Railroad and SR 54NB Bridge.

I-20 WB, between MP 45 (Thornton Rd.) and MP 45 (Thornton Rd.), two left lanes closed for installing bridge overlay.
