Where Am I Today? Monday, April 8

Last time I posted an article under this title, many people were surprised to learn that the homes I showed you were all located in Oak Grove.  While there are some pretty impressive mansions in that area, there are also plenty of "regular" homes.  Sometimes you may find very similar home sizes and layouts in different parts of the county, but they will have huge difference in price.  

With the inaccuracies plauging our tax assessment office, the school quality often will determine how much a Realtor can get.  And, as noted by Realtor Sally English on her blog, most Realtors think of land inside the perimeter as "pure gold" and outside the perimeter as "red clay."  Is this still true?  As the market begins to rebound, time will tell if intown or out of town becomes what buyers value more.

As we spend time talking about various neighborhoods in the DeKalb County region, I thought it would be helpful if we tried to become more familiar with the areas in question.  It's good to know your neighbors and to realize that we are probably more alike that we are different.

In a few days, I will post the answer and a new blog for another area.  I will do my best to take a few snapshots that accurately represent the area that I visit.
