Three Tucker groups honored with $1,000 Days of Giving grants as program exceeds $1 million in contributions in Atlanta

Three Tucker non-profits were honored by Wells Fargo team members with $1,000 Days of Giving donations today.

Wells Fargo also announced that its employees gave or pledged $1.46 million this fall in the United Way and Community Support campaign – 13 percent more than last year.

In all, 55 groups received $1,000 checks today at a community breakfast at the Evergreen Marriott Resort in Stone Mountain Park.

Baseball great Brian Jordan addressed those assembled.

“Dream big and reach for the stars,” he told the group.  “Believe in what you do.  Reach out to everyone – a lot of people want to help.  And a lot of people need help.”

Three additional breakfasts are occurring this month and some 240 groups in all will also receive $1,000 gifts.  With the program in its fifth year, giving in Atlanta will exceed $1 million this fall.

All the groups were selected by frontline team members in bank offices in the South Atlanta area for the work they are doing locally.

“Just read the names to get a sense of the great work these groups are doing,” said Carol Morris, East Atlanta area president.

“We are doing our best to be a great local bank, and this is a cornerstone of our local giving and volunteerism,” said Robert Dobbs, business banking area manager.

The following Tucker groups received $1,000 grants today.
