What Should Go Here?

Cakes & Ale moved out in August. What would you like to see moving in?

Cakes & Ale -- now one of Atlanta's top restaurants -- started out at the corner of West Ponce de Leon Avenue and Ponce de Leon Place.

But the restaurant soon outgrew the space and moved last August to a larger location on Sycamore Street, just off the Decatur Square.

Since then the old spot on the corner has been empty.

Patch readers, what kind of business would you like to see moving into this location?  You can tell us in the comments below.

About this column: Every week or so, we'll post a picture of a vacant store or lot in Decatur and Avondale Estates. You can tell us what you think should replace the empty space. Know of an empty building we should highlight? E-mail ralph.ellis@patch.com.

Love the art-store recommendation! Or maybe an upscale nail/beauty bar similar to Bliss?? (mani/pedi, facials, etc).

Since the space has a kitchen and a bar, the art store might as well serve snacks and drinks.

How about Le Pain Quotidien http://www.lepainquotidien.us/ ?? It's an organic bread bakery plus they serve up light organic breakfast, and soups and sides for lunch/dinner. It's yummy.

This place looks great. And it reminded me of Alon's (VA Highlands & Dunwoody)... might be a similar, but locally owned option. Seems to be important to some folks around here. Love the bakery ideas though.
