Taste of Tucker Returns Saturday

It's on from 4 until 8 p.m. on Church Street. Come hungry.

Taste of Tucker has become an annual event for the community. Local restaurants set up tents and offer food samples to the lucky attendees. Local Christian bands fill the air in this family friendly environment.

Last year we had 2,000 people come to enjoy Taste of Tucker. This year we have 22 local restaurants signed! See the entire list of restaurants here

The event will have an awesome kids zone. Best of all, 100% of the event proceeds will benefit NETWorks Cooperative Ministries. This is the largest fundraiser ever for them. Find out more about them and the great work that they do in the community.

Please come out and show your support. This year Taste of Tucker is on Saturday, October 13 from 4 - 8 p.m. and is located on Church Street. That is the street directly behind Tucker First United Methodist Church at 5095 LaVista Road.

NETWorks is a cooperative Christian ministry with persons in need in the Northlake-Embry Hills-Tucker area. We are a group of churches, groups, businesses and individuals committed to assist in meeting urgent needs related especially to housing and utilities. To quote Holly Duncan, NETWorks’ Board Chair, “This event has so many positive outcomes for our community. I'm grateful to be a part of it!”

Utilizing community and partner church resources, we are working to create a "safety net that works." This safety net includes material assistance, advocacy, spiritual assistance, and referral to other appropriate agencies and services, including the NET Food Pantry.

Let's fill the barrel! We will be having a canned food drive at Taste of Tucker to benefit the NETWorks Food Pantry. NETWorks specializes in quick and easy items to fix. This makes meal preparation a snap and is a life-saver for those without kitchen facilities or can openers. Every can NETWorks gives out has a pop-top containing hearty soups, meats, pasta meals, vegetables, or fruit. Individual food packages such as fruit cups, pudding cups, peanut butter crackers, granola bars, and pop-tarts are also accepted.
