Sangria's Owner Returns With Hushpuppies Seafood

Jerry Herrera, former owner of Sangria's, is opening a new seafood restaurant in the same location next month.

"It's time for something new," Herrera told Patch Tuesday. "There are plenty of Mexican restaurants around. This will be a Florida-style fish place," he said, adding that there will be grilled choices as well as fried.

Patch got a sneak peek at the menu, which Herrera said is still a work in progress. Key Lime Pie will be on there, and wine and beer will be served. "No full bar, at least not yet. There's a huge difference in cost (for the license)," he said.

The whole place has been repainted and Herrera is getting ready to hang a bunch of decorations he bought at the recent Yellow Daisy Festival.

Herrera has booked a booth at this weekend's Taste of Tucker, where he will unveil some of what he plans to serve at his new restaurant.
