Peach Cafeteria Collects Cash for Handy Acers

New restaurant does its bit for burnt hardware store down the street.

The Peach Cafeteria and their customers collected $550 toward contributions for the displaced Handy Ace Hardware employees whose jobs were "burned out" in late December.

Seen here receiving a $550 check from customers of the Peach Cafeteria are the "Peach girls" and Jack Sartain from Lawrenceville Road United Methodist Church in Tucker. The church established a special consolidating account for the many donors.

As of March 15, the LRUMC has collected from friends and customers of Handy Ace and turned over $5,275 to the company owners for distribution. Thanks to Smoke Rise resident Miriam McKibben for quarterbacking Tucker's Peach Cafeteria effort. And, if you have not tried their Mac and Cheese, you have missed a gourmet delight!
