Patch Picks: Celebrate Mother's Day

Mother’s Day is this Sunday. It is the one day of the year when we do something extra special for all the moms in this world. There are so many different ways to show the mother in your life that she matters to you. Here are some fun ways to celebrate the day.

Brunch is always best

In the morning, after you have given your mother her flowers and cards, think about taking her out to eat. Blue Ribbon Grill has a great brunch menu. IHOP is always a great place to enjoy a brunch, but there is likely to be a longer wait for a table there.

Sometimes cooking at home is better and healthier. Cooking mom brunch is a great idea. Find out exactly what her favorites are and serve her breakfast in bed. Remember to wash the dishes after everyone has eaten!

Spa Day

Being a mom is a full-time permanent job. Make an appointment with Aqua Salon on LaVista Road for a pedicure and manicure just for her. Find out what she would like to have done and make an appointment for her. If it's just the two of you, think about joining her for a spa day. It will be more appreciated when the two of you spend quality time together.

If cost is a factor for now, run your mother or wife a nice bubble bath. Light some candles around the tub and burn incense to give your lady that relaxing atmosphere. Play some soothing music she can close her eyes and relax to. Offer her a glass of wine to enjoy while her body soaks in bubbles.

Laugh, Cry and Sing Together

When was the last time you took the mother in your life to the movies? The Tavern is a great place to catch a flick with Mom. If you want to stay home, throw in a popcorn bag or two and watch her favorite movie together. The goal is to spend time together doing what she wants to do.  

Dinner Plans

Hibachi dinners are very fun. Taking the family out to celebrate mom for a Hibachi dinner is an excellent way to spend time with her. The hosts are always pleasant and fun to watch.
